It is a collection of proportions, textures, memories, and carefully preserved details. High ceilings, paneled doors, tall windows, decorative mouldings, and aged timber all carry a sense of history. In a restoration project, the challenge is not simply to make the home look new again. The real challenge is to let the past remain visible while making the space comfortable for modern living.
For this bespoke Victorian restoration, the design direction was clear: preserve the soul of the home, refine the daily experience, and use warm brass hardware as a quiet thread connecting each room.

A Home with History
The original home had the quiet elegance typical of Victorian architecture: vertical proportions, detailed trim, rich materials, and a sense of craftsmanship that modern interiors often try to recreate.
The goal was not to cover this history. The goal was to listen to it.
Instead of choosing hardware that felt overly modern or decorative, the project called for pieces with warmth, weight, and restraint. Brass was the natural choice. Its golden tone sits beautifully beside painted cabinetry, aged wood, marble, stone, and traditional door profiles. It deepens the character.

Kitchen Details: Warmth in Everyday Use
In the kitchen, the hardware needed to feel refined but highly functional, organizing the cabinetry and creating elegant visual rhythm.
For smaller cabinet doors and upper cabinets, Cabinet Knobs and Single T Pulls created a classic, balanced look. Their compact form respected the scale of the cabinetry while adding a warm brass accent to painted surfaces.
For larger drawers, Cabinet Pulls provided more grip and visual structure. Their longer lines helped organize the cabinetry, creating rhythm across the room without making the space feel too new or too polished.
On taller panels and integrated appliances, Appliance Pulls brought architectural balance. Their scale made paneled refrigerators and pantry doors feel intentional, almost like built-in furniture rather than modern appliances.

Backplates: Covering the Past with Grace
Restoration projects often come with small imperfections — old screw holes, paint marks, worn edges, or previous hardware outlines.
Instead of treating these as problems, the project used Cabinet Knob and Pull Backplates as an elegant solution. Backplates helped cover old marks while adding a more finished, period-appropriate look.
Behind a cabinet knob, a round brass backplate created a sense of depth. Behind a pull, a longer backplate gave the hardware more presence and visual weight. In a Victorian home, this kind of detail feels especially natural. It adds polish without feeling forced.
Door Hardware & Door Stops
In a restored home, doors are part of the home's rhythm. Every time a door opens, closes, or catches light along its edge, the hardware becomes part of the experience.
For this project, Door Hardware and Door Pulls were chosen to extend the same brass language beyond the cabinetry. This helped the rooms feel connected, especially in hallways, pantries, utility spaces, and transition areas.

The bathrooms in the project required a slightly softer approach. Victorian-inspired bathrooms often combine stone, ceramic, painted wood, mirrors, and warm metal accents.
Brass works beautifully in this setting because it softens hard surfaces and adds a feeling of comfort.
The design used a coordinated QOGRISUN mix of Towel Bars for larger wall areas, Towel Hooks for robes and smaller spaces, Towel Rings near vanities, and Toilet Paper Holders for everyday function. Together, these elements made the space warmer and quietly luxurious.
